Beginning in 2020, we started our COVID-19 Food Relief Fund to help counter the increasing food insecurity in the countries we work in. Our local partners supported their local economies by purchasing food, supplies, and hygiene products distributed at no cost to thousands of people.
In early 2021, Myanmar faced a military coup that shut down the country and its economy. Food supply chains, electricity, and water was shut off for many civilians, and there was little to no access to care for the sick. The Save Myanmar Project has helped more than 1,000 families with food relief, COVID-19 relief, and spiritual support.
After the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan in the late summer of 2021, many Afghans fled to neighboring countries where we have relief programs already in place. Our Afghan Refugee Relief project is helping families who have fled for their lives into Pakistan with food, care, and the gospel.
