National Workers
National workers who already know the customs and culture have fewer obstacles to overcome in evangelism

A National Worker is a man or woman whose life is dedicated to reaching the people of his or her own nationality with the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are an integral part of the ministry of AMG.

AMG helps train, equip, and underwrite the ministries of over 400 national workers, church planters and Bible School students in 20 countries.

National Workers can be found...

• riding a bicyle from village to village as they share the Gospel.
• using a drum to call crowds to a meeting.
• rowing in a boat to a church building on the edge of an island.
• going where no one else can.

Why use National Workers?

• National workers are already familiar with the culture in which they are ministering so, unlike foreign missionaries, there are few obstacles for them to overcome. They already know the language so they can begin to minister without spending time at language school. 
• To the local people, national workers are one of them. They do not come from foreign lands and they don't represent a strange religion. They are much more readily accepted by the people than a foreigner.
• A national worker can be supported at a fraction of the cost of sending a foreign missionary. In many places it costs as little as $1,200 a year to keep a national worker on the field. But for just $50 a month, you can have a part in the ministry of a national worker.

What do National Workers do?

These faithful servants labor in children's ministry, youth camps, radio ministry, leprosy ministry, evangelism, discipleship, and church planting.

They are committed to AMG's mission: To give everyone on earth a chance to hear and respond to a clear presentation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Most national workers are stationed in remote villages where there are few Christians, and where they receive little in the way of encouragement or help in their ministry. These workers are often responsible for sharing the gospel in several villages because the Christian witness is so sparse. Others minister in larger towns, where opposition from the state religion can be just as intense as the hostility of the tribal religions in the villages.

Periodically you will receive updates so that you can pray about the specific details involved in the ministry that you are supporting.
