While working at St. Clare's Hospital in New York City, he was introduced to AMG's ministry by then President Dr. Spiros Zodhiates. It was certainly by Divine appointment that Dr. Zodhiates came to St. Clare’s to visit a family friend, fondly known as Aunt Jeanie, a supporter of AMG's ministries.

During that meeting, Dr. Zodhiates learned of the great need in India, and following an urging from the Holy Spirit, Dr. Zodhiates invited Dr. Chigurupati to work with him to establish a ministry India. That resulted in the establishment of AMG’s work in Andhra Pradesh, India, which began in 1968 under the leadership of the late Dr. S. John David. God richly blessed that work, as seen by the fact that of some 60 plus countries where AMG serves, India became their biggest mission field. We give praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who worked mightily through the leaders there who worked tirelessly and did not look back from the task.
