Could you teach ESL in Thailand?
For over 23 years, AMG has given the malnourished children of Thailand’s Nan Province a “kick start” to a better life. The setting is Grace Kindergarten in Nampai, a remote village in the Maejarim District of Nan Province (in northwest Thailand near the Laos border). There are currently175 students being served by 17 staff members.
Grace Kindergarten provides its students a 3-year advantage that puts them way ahead of the other children when they begin primary school. Grace Kindergarten’s well-earned reputation of excellence has helped it become the regional pre-school of choice.
Recently, the government granted permission to expand Grace’s program to that of a full primary school through the sixth grade. Our partner organization, Word and Deed of Holland, has provided the construction funds. The pictures show the beautiful results. The location of the new building is in the town of Maejarim, about 10 miles from Nampai. The kindergarten in Nampai will be moved to the new location and combined with the primary school. The new facility is scheduled to open in May of 2006.
This will be a bi-lingual school. The Thai teachers will have to be trained in conversational English and then trained to teach English to the kindergarten and elementary students. And then, the children will have to be taught English. WE are looking for YOU if …
• YOU can teach Thai teachers conversational English, or
• YOU can teach the Thai teachers how to teach English, or
• YOU would like to teach English to children in Thailand.
• If you cannot go, do you know a recent college graduate, or someone who will graduate in the next year, who YOU can tell about this opportunity?
If you are prepared to join with us in this opportunity, or if you would like more information, please contact Pat Ragan by calling 1-800-251-7206 (Ext. 245), by e-mail at patrickr@amginternational.org, or in writing to AMG International, P. O. Box 22000, Chattanooga, TN 37422. Please contact us TODAY!
THANK YOU – khawp khun makh – from the children of Thailand!
