Giving to Bundles of Love Brings Great Joy
When Monty learned from his mother that our class was filling a Bundles of Love bank to provide Christmas gifts for children, he wanted a bank of his own to fill. Last year his bank provided for two Bundles of Love gifts and he is working toward providing Bundles of Love gifts again this year. He is so excited when he gets a bank filled with quarters and change to turn in, and he looks forward to receiving the AMG News from the Field every month in the mail. Monty has faced many problems in his 53 years of life. At birth he had brain damage that affected his speech and hearing, and he couldn’t walk until he was three years old. His hearing has been corrected, but speech is still difficult. He attended school in Chattanooga until he was 21 at Orange Grove Center, a private, non-profit organization serving adults and children with developmental disabilities. Monty’s dad, now deceased, was a high-school football coach; Monty went everywhere with him, but when his dad became ill, Monty became the caregiver so his mother could continue working as a public school fifth-grade teacher. He continues to be a great help to his mother who has some physical problems. He is very close to his brother and two sisters. He attends church regularly and loves the Lord, his family, his church friends, and he is a Georgia Bulldogs football fan! In addition to filling his Bundles of Love bank, every month he sponsors children in Haiti and in Romania through missions in our local church. Providing a $20 Bundle of Love to a needy boy and girl brings great joy to both the giver and the receiver. The much needed items it contains make a big difference. In addition to children, AMG provides Bundles of Love to leprosy sufferers and national workers around the world. Will you prayerfully consider providing a Bundle of Love to one or more children, leprosy suffers, or national workers, and making a huge difference in their lives through this tangible expression of Christ’s love? |
Advance with compassion the command of Christ to evangelize and make disciples around the world through national workers and in partnership with like-minded Christians
