Preparing the Ground
Equipping National Workers in the Philippines

Around the world,AMG relies on national workers to proclaim the message of the Gospel. These faithful men and women of God do not face any of the language or cultural barriers that western missionaries would have to overcome. And they serve faithfully, at a minimal cost. One need is to provide training for them so that they can truly be effective in their ministry.

One country where AMG church planters are seeing wonderful fruit is the Philippines. This past July, all AMG International national workers, pastors and leaders gathered at AMG’s Living Hope Beach and Adventure Camp in Barangay, Northern Samar. The attendees had the opportunity to learn more about church planting, how to teach the Word of God, and how to apply biblical principles to benefit their own personal spiritual growth as well as to strengthen the church of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Carlino Valdriz of the Redeemer’s House of Praise was one of the nationals in attendance. Pastor Valdriz leads a church in the city of San Juan, La Union (north of Manila), with approximately 30 members. He is raising his children alone, and in order to support his family he maintains a small farm where he grows rice and corn.

He has five children between the ages of 13 and 20, and they are all in school. His 20-year-old daughter also works to help support the family. The situation of Pastor Carlino is very difficult, as he is also dealing with physical challenges. But he is sure that the Lord has called him to be a pastor and fully believes that God is faithful. “I am very grateful because I was chosen by God to be a pastor and server with AMG International,”he says.

Please pray for Pastor Carlino. He is another national worker whose life is a testimony for Christ. Also pray for the other AMG national workers in the Philippines and around the world.

Advance with compassion the command of Christ to evangelize and make disciples around the world through national workers and in partnership with like-minded Christians
