Bringing the Good News to the 21st Century

What is now AMG International began when a New York City photographer found it impossible to ignore the message of a street preacher. 

The photographer, George Georgakis, met Christ because of that now unknown preacher's faithfulness, and immediately felt a particular burden for other Greeks.

Within just a few months, he and another Greek believer would organize and begin monthly bilingual publication of The Voice of the Gospel magazine. The magazine would soon circulate to the Greek community worldwide. One reader was a young Spiros Zodhiates in Cairo, Egypt, who contributed his own bilingual studies to the magazine.

In 1946, Spiros Zodhiates was invited to become the ministry's General Director and Editor of The Voice of the Gospel. As the impact broadened, the ministry became American Mission to the Greeks, then AMG International. Under Dr. Zodhiates' visionary leadership over almost sixty years, AMG grew into a worldwide missionary organization serving in well over 40 countries.

Today led by Paul Jenks, AMG is looking ahead to new opportunities for sharing the Gospel. AMG'S historic ministry flexibility finds continuous expression through cooperation across denominational lines, strategic partnerships, and sometimes by simply helping fund a good idea. As a result, God has enriched the ministry with local effectiveness in countries around the world. 

At AMG, we endeavor to meet people at the point of their need whether it be hunger, sickness, or hopelessness, and show them Jesus as the only answer to the problems of this life and the only hope for eternal life.
