Week 2 - Opening New Childcare Centers

Day 8: New Opportunities

Over the last few months AMG has been presented with opportunities to open new childcare centers in Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Uganda.   We are excited about being able to reach new children and families with basic human needs and the love of Christ.

Please pray with us this week as we seek the Lord for the sponsors needed to open these new centers.  We want these centers to be God’s centers reaching the lost and needy in His name.

Day 9: Myanmar - Free Will Hostel

Myanmar has been through four decades of repressive military rule. This country that is rich in natural resources has been ravaged by the greed of it rulers. A little over 32% of the population is living below the poverty level. Many families cannot afford to send their children to school. Without proper education these children will follow in their parents footsteps and live in pov-erty with no hope of escaping.

In Myanmar, Buddhism is the predominant religion. While the government claims there is no state religion, Buddhism is promoted. 82% of the population is Buddhist and almost 6% are Christian.

The Free Will Hostel is providing food, shelter, school fees, and the truth only found in Jesus to a community that is predominately non-Christian and uneducated. It is currently being funded by a Baptist church in Myanmar that is struggling financially. AMG wants to come alongside this current ministry to reach the lost and needy in Myanmar. Please pray for at least 24 sponsors.

Day 10: Myanmar - Galilee Childcare Center

The Galilee Childcare Center is located in a very rural and poor village. The majority of the villagers are farmers. This center cares for children ages three and up. The center provides these children with physical, mental , and spiritual programs which help to build up the children’s self-esteem. Also, basic needs are provided such as food, tutoring, and school uniforms. Pray for at least 20 sponsors for these needy children.

"What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, ‘Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well’ - but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?

So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless." - James 2:14-17 NLT

Day 11: Philippines - Lavesares Childcare Center

Between 32% and 50% of the Filipino population live below the poverty level. Lavesares Church is an AMG church plant where an AMG National Worker is the pastor. They have been praying for years to start an AMG Childcare Center to serve the many Filipinos living in poverty and in need of salvation found only in Jesus.

Pray for the Lavesares Church and their current ministry. Pray for at least 35 sponsors that will provide these needy children with basic human needs and salvation through Christ.

Day 12: Philippines - Buenos Aires Childcare Center

Buenos Aires Christian Church in the Philippines has been praying to open a childcare center for years. They desire to reach their needy community with the love of Christ by meeting their physical needs.

Pray with us and the Buenos Aires Christian Church that God would open the door for AMG to fund this childcare center. The Buenos Aires Childcare Center needs at least 35 sponsors.

"And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groaning that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them."  - Romans 8:26-28 NLT

Day 13: Philippines - Maravilla Childcare Center

Maravilla Church is much like the last two churches in the Philippines. It is an AMG church plant by an AMG National Worker. The church has been praying for years to open an AMG childcare center in order to reach the community around them for Christ.

Pray for this church and AMG as we seek sponsors for at least 35 children. Only $28 a month will provide these children with the nutrition, medical care, education, and Christian love they need and deserve. We are so excited about this opportunity to grow and expand our ministry in the Philippines. Pray for God’s guidance and provision.

Day 14: Uganda - Sumba Childcare Center

In the same area as Camp El Har (the AMG orphanage in Uganda) a childcare center has been formed. Our leadership in Uganda noticed many disadvantaged and needy children in the surrounding villages. The Sumba Childcare Center will reach out to this community in the name of Christ by providing these children’s basic human needs.

Currently we have 55 children who are in need of sponsors. Pray that God would lead people to sponsor one of these children, providing them with hope for a brighter future in Christ.
