Week 1 - New Child Sponsors

Day 1: New Child Sponsors

AMG currently has childcare centers in 10 countries:

  • Bangladesh
  • Guatemala
  • Haiti
  • India
  • Indonesia
  • Myanmar
  • Peru
  • Philippines
  • Thailand
  • Uganda

Each of these countries have children waiting for a sponsor.  Some children have lost their sponsor and some have never had a sponsor.  Many childcare centers are falling short each month, struggling to make ends meet.  AMG has the opportunity to open new childcare centers, allowing us to reach new areas with the Gospel of Christ, but we must have the sponsors first.

Please pray that God would touch the hearts of many to sacrifice $28 a month.  This monthly donation provides the basic needs of life to a child in the name of Jesus.

Day 2: Uganda

AMG currently has 1187 sponsored children in Uganda. Yet there are still children in need everywhere.  Millions of children have been orphaned due to AIDS and war.  Many families simply cannot afford to feed all their children, much less pay their children’s school fees. 51% of the population lives on less than $1.25 a day.  With $28 a month AMG is able to give these sweet children hope for a better life and hope in Christ.

Pray that God would raise up more sponsors for the children of Uganda.  When Ugandan children learn that they have a sponsor, they are very surprised.  It means so much to them to have someone across the ocean supporting them, praying for them, and loving them.

Day 3: Home of Hope Orphanage

"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you." - James 1:27 NLT

Home of Hope is an AMG orphanage located in Bacolod City in the Philippines. This orphanage reaches out to the many abandoned children whose parents cannot afford to care for them or have died. Currently HOH is serving 57 children. Because of the amount of care these children receive, each child at Home of Hope needs at least three sponsors. They eat, sleep, and play at the orphanage everyday.

Home of Hope is struggling each month to financially provide for all the children’s needs along with paying for building up-keep, worker’s salaries, and other expenses.

Currently Home of Hope needs at least 95 more sponsors. Pray for God’s provision.

Day 4: Thailand Hostels

AMG Thailand has 5 Hostels: Bright Home, Living Stream, JoYouth, Mercy Hostel, and Museekee.

These hostels serve the many children who live in remote areas without any access to education or the Gospel of Christ. Children come from these remote areas and live at the AMG hostel during the school year. It provides a safe Christian environment for children to grow and thrive during their formative years. These children receive 24 hour care for more than half of the year, making a hostel more costly to run than a childcare center.

Please pray that God would provide more sponsors for the hostels in Thailand. $28 a month gives these children the chance to complete their education and choose something better for their lives. Most importantly, they will be able to hear and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Day 5: Hebron Hostel in Bangladesh

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for He has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come." - Luke 4:18-19 NLT

Bangladesh is 85 % Muslim and 12% Hindu with less than 1% Christian. Bangladesh occupies two deltas and flood plains for the Ganges and Brahmaputra Rivers. Anytime there is high rainfall, the country suffers from devastating floods making this nation one of the world’s poorest. 55% of the population live below the poverty line. AMG is working alongside national workers in order to give hope in Jesus to the people of Bangladesh.

Hebron Hostel is much like the hostels in Thailand. These kids live in very remote areas without access to education. AMG shows the love of Christ by giving these children the ability to go to school while receiving food, medical attention, and clothing. As a sponsor the $28 a month given provides a child with this opportunity, all in the name of Christ.

Day 6: Indonesia

Indonesia is predominately Muslim with 88% claiming Islam as their religion. 6% of Indonesians are Christian. A way to reach this country with the love of Christ is to care for their children. Sponsoring a child in Indonesia through AMG for $28 will provide these children’s basic needs while sharing the message of salvation through Jesus.

Currently there are 13 AMG Childcare Centers in Indonesia. These 5 need 35 sponsors each:

  • Sragen
  • Meletan
  • Sinar Kasih
  • Sidorejo/Telgaldlimo
  • Grimbyang/Awu-Awu

Pray with us that God would move people to sponsor children from Indonesia.

Day 7: Peru

"For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.

…I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!" - Matthew 24: 35 & 36, 40b NLT

In the capital city of Lima, and in the mountains, AMG has four Childcare Centers. These children are living in the slums with no running water and no electricity.

There are 272 sponsored children in Lima and 193 sponsored children in the mountains. At each of these centers very needy children are waiting for a sponsor. The directors at these centers feed all the children whether they have a sponsor or not, although they cannot afford to provide the other benefits a sponsored child receives.

$28 a month provides these kids with the ability to go to school, receive health care, and nutritious meals all in a loving Christian environment where the truth is preached.

Pray for these centers that God would bring more sponsors for the many children waiting.
