Meet the board members of AMG International
William S. (Bill) Hardin - Chairman Bill and his wife Judy live in Atlanta, Georgia. They have three daughters. Bill is the owner of Metro Home Products Company that provides shutters, windows, shower doors, etc., to residential builders. Bill has an M.A. in Accounting from the University of Alabama and a B.S. in Business Administration from Samford University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Georgia.
William (Bill) Costas Bill and Diane Costas make their home in Valparaiso, Indiana, and Sarasota, Florida. Bill served two terms in the Indiana Senate, from 1980-1988. He was in the supermarket business for 35 years, owner/operator of Costas Foods with stores in Valparaiso, Chesterton, and South Haven, Indiana. The Costas have six children, sixteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Their daughter Marcy and her husband, George Romeos, have served with AMG in Greece for a number of years. Their son Jon is mayor of Valparaiso, Indiana. Daughter Jamie and her family served for two years with AMG in Greece during the 2004 Olympics.
George Kefalas George is the owner of G. M. Kefalas Investments in Pasadena, California. He has a B.S. degree in Business Administration and a B. A. in French. He is a lay minister and board officer of the Greek Evangelical Church of Los Angeles. He serves on several boards and committees. He is married to Anna; Anna grew up in an AMG orphanage in Greece. He is involved in real estate sales and management, sale of residential and commercial real estate. He is a Certified Property Manager, and owner/operator/rehabber of about 100 real estate projects, past and present.
Dr. David V. Chigurupati Dr. David Chigurupati is a retired medical doctor from Andhra Pradesh, India. While working at St. Clare's Hospital in New York City, he was introduced to AMG's ministry by then President Dr. Spiros Zodhiates, who had come to St. Clare’s to visit an AMG ministry friend. During that meeting, Dr. Zodhiates learned of the great needs and opportunities in India. Following an urging from the Holy Spirit, Dr. Zodhiates invited Dr. Chigurupati to work with him to establish a ministry India. AMG ministries were eventually established in Andhra Pradesh, India, in 1968 under the leadership of the late Dr. S. John David. Dr. Chigurupati lives in Glen Ridge, New Jersey and remains active in evangelistic and conference ministry with Telugu emigrants from his homeland in India. He is President of the National Association of Asian Indian Christians in the USA Inc. He is the elder-in-charge of the Telugu Christian Fellowship of New Jersey, established in 1979. He and his colleagues also conduct Christian Family Conferences for Telugu folks and other Indian Christians. So far these conferences have been held in 13 cities across the US and Canada, and more cities are added to this list each year.
Philip Zodhiates Philip is the owner of Response Unlimited in Waynesboro, Virginia. He and Kathie live in Waynesboro, VA and are the parents of six adopted children—three from Guatemala and three from Nicaragua. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee, a Bachelor of Science from Farleigh Dickenson University. He attended The King’s College in Briarcliff Manor, New York, Paterson State College in New Jersey, Messiah College in Grantham, PA, and Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece. He has attended and lectured at numerous seminars on publishing, fundraising, missions, and direct marketing. He was featured in U. S. News and World Report in a 1993 cover article called “Christian Capitalists.” He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Spiros Zodhiates.
Dr. Demosthenes Katsarkas Dr. Katsarkas graduated from the Medical School of the Aristotelean University of Thessaloniki in 1958. He specialized in internal medicine and was given the position of assistant at the University. In 1968, he earned a doctoral degree from the Medical School of the University of Thessaloniki, and was named Professor of Contagious Diseases in the School of Health of the Technical Institute of Thessaloniki, a position he kept until 1999. He was the key figure for AMG in the establishment and operation of St. Luke’s Hospital where he is the General Director. Since 1968, Dr. Katsarkas has been the pastor of the Greek Free Evangelical Church in Thessaloniki. He has been a member of the Board of the Greek Bible Society and member of the Executive Committee of the Free Evangelical Churches of Greece. He was also a former member of the Board of the International Christian Medical and Dental Association, former President of the Board of the Greek Scripture Union and former President of the Panhellenic Evangelical Alliance.
Symeon Ioannidis Symeon Ioannidis graduated from the Katerini Bible Institute in Greece in 1960, after which he and his wife Anna served as AMG national workers at the “O Logos” (The Word) Christian bookstore. Before coming to the United States, Anna also served at AMG’s St. Luke’s Hospital – also a ministry of AMG International – in the Biblical city of Thessaloniki, Greece. In 1980, then AMG President Dr. Spiros Zodhiates invited them to move to the United States to serve as coordinator of the AMG ministries among Greeks. Without hesitation, he accepted that invitation as a call from God, and moved to the United States in August of 1980 with his family. Since then, he has been serving at AMG’s Headquarters in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
James (Jim) Everett Jim and Drew Everett live in New Stanton, Pennsylvania, where they attend a Christian and Missionary Alliance church. They have two children, Joel who lives in heaven and Elizabeth who lives in South Carolina. Jim graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in mechanical engineering and has retired after 28 years as a nuclear engineer for Westinghouse Electric. Since the year 2000 they have served as volunteer missionaries in East Africa with several ministries, joining AMG International in 2003. Jim & Drew continue to serve AMG in Uganda three to six months each year with discipleship, pastor training, child evangelism, carpentry, and many other tasks. Jim was honored to be asked to serve on the AMG Board of Directors since 2007, but he continues to be just the carpenter serving the Lord.
Robert (Bob) Yoe Since 2000, Bob has been the Chairman & CEO of Crescent, Inc. From 1990 until 2000 he was President & CEO of DeSoto Hosiery Mills. Bob has an MSBA from the University of Southern California, an MBA Chapel Hill, NC , a BA in Economics from Middlebury College and he attended Birmingham Theological Seminary. He has served on executive boards for Save a Life (Ft Payne, AL), Boy Scouts of America, The International Hosiery Association, Lifeshape, & the SPCA. Bob has been a member of the following groups: YPO, WPO, TEC, Society of International Business Fellows, Rotary, & the Birmingham Southern College Norton Board. Bob is married to Beth Hazelrig Yoe and they have two married children; Betsy Yoe Eldridge, married to Luke Eldridge and Robert H. Yoe, IV, married to Calee Hopper Yoe and one beautiful granddaughter, Caroline Comer Eldridge.
Paul Jenks Paul is the President of AMG International. He is from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and has a Masters of Science degree from the University of Detroit, and a Bachelor’s degree from Taylor University in Indiana. He met his wife, Lois Zodhiates, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Spiros Zodhiates, at Taylor University. In 1981 he and his family moved to Bangkok, Thailand, to serve with AMG International as Thailand coordinator. In the mid-1990s, Paul was named AMG’s Vice President of Asian Outreach as his responsibilities among Asian countries broadened. After serving for fifteen years as a missionary in Thailand, in July 1996 Paul returned to Chattanooga, Tennessee, to serve as Chief Executive Officer of AMG International. In 2005, the Board of Directors asked him to serve as President of AMG International. Paul and Lois have three adult children and two granddaughters.
Mrs. Joan Zodhiates - Vice President Emeritus Mrs. Zodhiates served as Vice-President of the AMG Board of Trustees for several years until her and Dr. Zodhiates' full-time retirement in 2004. In addition to being a full-time homemaker, she assisted with editing his manuscripts, including the Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible and Complete Word Study New Testament Dictionary, and for many years worked at AMG headquarters as a volunteer. She continues to do editing work.
