Kadyum Hospital performs cataract surgery for leprosy victims

AMG's Kadyum Hospital is located in the Andra Pradesh province of India. This hospital shows the love of Christ in a very tangible way to hundreds of people each month. Many of them are leprosy sufferers who have nowhere else to turn for help. Because of the stigma of the disease, they face rejection every day of their lives.

The main medical service offered at Kadyum is the performance of eye operations to restore the sight to those who have been blinded by cataracts. Due to nerve damage, leprosy victims are particularly susceptible to cataracts. They cannot feel the dirt and dust particles that get in their eyes.

These operations can be performed free for the leprosy victim because AMG's generous donors pay the $35 that each operation costs.

This is truly a wonderful gift for two reasons. First, it helps these needy people who cannot find help anywhere else to see again. Second, it makes it possible to share with them the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is wonderful to enable people who once lived in physical and spiritual darkness to be able to see and to meet the one, true Light.

However, the need is overwhelming and there are thousands who are still waiting for help. Each one of them represents an opportunity to share the gospel. Please pray for the great physical and spiritual needs represented by those who come to Kadyum Hospital for help.
