Child Sponsorship: Stellah in Uganda
January 23rd, 2012
I had the pleasure of meeting Stellah on my trip to Uganda last year. She works in the AMG office in Uganda working with Child Sponsorships. I remember when we arrived at the airport she was there to greet us with a warm smile. Before we left the parking lot and started our journey in Uganda she prayed for us. I can recall feeling incredibly blessed to have a co-worker like Stellah who has such a strong desire to follow, obey, and serve God. Read Stellah’s testimony, be encouraged, and pray for her as she serves in her home country.

My name is Stellah; I am a Ugandan female age 27. I am not yet married. I graduated in 2008 with a Bachelors’ degree in social sciences. I happen to be the second born of four children in my family. The first born graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and is now employed in one of the financial institutions here In Uganda while the other two after me are still in school. All three of my brothers and sister are born again. Both of my parents are alive and they are living together. They are however not born again and it is a serious prayer request of mine.
I received Christ as my Savior in my early childhood days during a Saturday program in one of the Compassion International projects here in Uganda where I attended. The Lord has since been good to me and even though sometimes I lacked school fees somehow God always made a way and now I am a graduate.
Serving under AMG is a great opportunity of serving the Lord; I began as a volunteer in one of the projects called Bukoto CDC- teaching the children the word of God. After a year I was promoted to being a full time staff in 2010. It’s a great blessing being around these children – loving them, caring for them, sharing with them the word of God, and encouraging them in the Lord. These children are delicate and they for sure need special care. I enjoy what I do!
For the two years I have served in AMG in the child sponsorship department, I have gotten to know all the children and it’s always a joy when I visit them both at their respective centers and homes; becoming their friends to the extent that they confide in me to share about their life stories, challenges, and I thank God!
Also from the regular staff fellowships where we study the word of God, praise & worship Him, share different prayer needs, I have managed to grow in the knowledge and understanding of God’s word & in His love.
At my church, I sing in the choir and I also teach the word of God to teenagers.
I thank you, May God bless you!
Yours in Christ,
Stellah Adong
