National Workers: Testimony of God's Intervention
May 9th, 2012 7:30 AM
A sinking boat is no place to be. But that is exactly where Swapan, AMG National Worker in Bangladesh, found himself while transporting 180 students!
Their trip started out as a routine transport of Friendship Bible Students during their Bible campaign. Swapan recalled their fear after the boat’s engine failed.
“There was a strong current and wind in the river when we started early in the morning. Soon after our boat’s gear suddenly failed. We lost control of the boat because of the heavy current. The strong wind drove us back until we were beaten against Chilla Bridge.
In this circumstance, the passengers of the upper deck became frightened and began crying. I loudly prayed, ‘Lord Jesus save us.’ Then the boat crashed damaging part of the roof. We thought for sure we were going to sink. The people who were on the bridge began to shout. Water was rising in the boat.
I was seized with fear thinking that if anybody would sink in the water or anybody would die at the time of the collision. In this danger God saved us all! Thankfully the engine began to run again. We slowly reached our destination.
After reaching our destination we all sang and held our Bible campaign. Some of the participants gave their testimony. This program was held very joyfully. In the Bible competition many students shared verses from their memory. And when we finished the Bible campaign the students returned safely by a different boat!”
Please pray for Free Friendship Children School as they teach God’s word to the children. Pray for the salvation of the children and families.

National Workers: Impacting Men
April 11th, 2012 8:07 AM
Rodne Romeus, AMG Director in Haiti, organized a day conference at Baptist Church of Grand Bassin for all the married men in the church. Some men also came from Grande Savanne. With excitement, Rodne shares how the men were impacted by what they learned.
“The men were very happy to participate. There were five main speakers including: Dr. Marcelin, Mrs. Marc, Evangelist Yves, Evangelist Yvon, and Pastor Rodne. We studied the Bible and prayed together. A general session about health was held. We also taught about the behavior with the spouse in the home. We think that this day brought many useful things for having family who walk as children of light. This will contribute to a changing world according to God's word.”

Pray for these men as they lead their families and seek to honor God in everything they do.

National Workers: Finding A Way
March 27th, 2012 7:30 AM
Lores, in Indonesia, found Berita Hidup Seminary to be so challenging he questioned his calling and briefly left the program. Discover the blessing God gave this young man as he persevered.
“Peaceful greetings. I praise and thank our Lord Jesus for His love in guiding us and especially for His protection to me. I never imagined that I have become a God’s servant.
In the beginning of my study at Berita Hidup Seminary, I was not so peaceful. I did not feel comfortable because I struggled to meet the class requirements. So, I decided to go home and leave the campus. I questioned my calling to be God’s servant. At that time, my senior advisor stood by me and guided me. I was encouraged to continue. I could walk day by day until the end of my school time. I could make progress in academic field, character building, ministry life and way of life. I thank God that at last I finished my studies.
After finishing my studies, I continue serving anywhere God sends me. I believe that God has taught me in Berita Hidup campus to be His servant. I just surrender and obey to His command. I am willing to teach at school anywhere God appoints me. I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge to a community, especially to pupils. Thank you very much and may God bless you.”
Pray for Lores as he seeks the Lord’s direction and guidance in his life. Pray that he will remain faithful to his calling to teach and share the gospel wherever God leads.

National Workers: "Arise and Shine"
March 22nd, 2012 7:30 AM
Nan has a passion for reaching lost souls and teaching new believers what it means to follow Christ. She is a National Worker in Thailand. Hear how she came to know Christ and became involved in this ministry.

Nan with Pastor Chowkee
“I was brought up in a disciplined Buddhist family. I practiced meditation as a teenager and did all the things which I had to do as a Buddhist. But I lost my hope in 2000 and was overwhelmed with sorrow. I tried to cure it with meditation, but it did not help at all. I was far away from peace.
Three years later, I contacted a Christian friend and went to church with her. We sang praise and worship songs. As I sang, I felt waves of happiness and accepted that Jesus Christ is the Lord who is in heaven. One year later, I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior and was baptized by Pastor Chowkee Zaw Min.
I did not have a job at that time. So I fasted and prayed while job hunting. I was offered a job at AMG Thailand. I gave my best service for His ministry. I enjoyed daily morning devotion and scripture reading. My faith grew as we had daily prayers and teaching of Pastor Zaw Min.
God spoke to me during three days of summer bible study. I clearly heard the voice “you have to reap many souls”. I felt I needed to follow-up with 20 new believers from the December crusade. So, I took three months leave from work and attended discipleship training in Bangkok. I heard the calling of God through Matthew 28:19-20.
After three months training, I lifted my hands and prayed to the Lord. I saw a vision that God took hold of my hands and said “arise and shine.” This vision made me decide to follow-up with the new believers in full-time ministry.
I am doing outreach to the lost souls and follow-up with new believers. By the grace of God the youngest sibling, a sister accepted Jesus Christ. The second one accepted Jesus Christ at the December indoor crusade. He was baptized and is growing steadily with God. He also has a burden for the lost souls and telling the good news of salvation to friends and neighbors at work.
All in all, I praise the Lord for his mercy and strongly believe that he will lift me up till the end of the journey."
In His precious name,
Nan

National Workers: Helping Pastors Everywhere
March 19th, 2012 8:59 AM
Anyone who knew Dr. Spiros Zodhiates, heard him speak, read his books, or owns the Key Word Study Bible knows that he had a heart to make the truths of God’s Word known to all. Along with that Dr. Zodhiates also had a heart to empower pastors everywhere. That passion made AMG what it is today. If you look at AMG’s history you find this to be true:
Today AMG’s many ministries all over the world are run by National Workers. We are committed to coming alongside Nationals and supporting them in the preaching the Gospel to their people. Most of these nationals would not be able to minister as they do without the support of AMG and a sponsor. For $50 a month you can be part of what God is doing all over the world through a national.
Mission Statement
Advance with compassion the command of Christ to evangelize and make
disciples around the world through national workers and in partnership with
like-minded Christians.
Vision Statement
We envision a day when everyone on
Earth will have at least one opportunity to hear and respond to a clear
presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have the opportunity to grow as
a disciple of Christ.

National Workers: Welcome to the Family
March 7th, 2012 7:30 AM
At the Baptist Church of Grand Bassin twenty-three new believers were baptized on Sunday, March 4, 2012. Rodne shares what a wonderful day this was for the church.

“We praise God's name as he serves with us for his glory. We had many people in church today. A young man came from Catholic Church and said that he wants to accept Jesus as his Savior and then we prayed with him. That means more than 20 people already came to the Lord during the year 2012.”

Thank you for all your prayers for this ministry in Haiti.

National Workers: A Matter of the Heart
February 29th, 2012 7:29 AM
Pastor Theo, AMG National Worker in Bangladesh, reports that Camp 2012 was another great success. As always, the camp was held in a nice resort on the Bay of Bengal.
This year eighty-five children and ten chaperons participated. Reverend Paul, the new Pastor for the Christian Church in the area, was the featured speaker. The theme this year was taken from Proverbs 23:26. “My son, my daughter, give me your heart and let your eyes keep to my ways.” Pastor Paul stressed that even if you are born in a Christian home that does not confirm your salvation. Asking Jesus for forgiveness and to come into your life will assure your salvation.
The kids were very attentive, listening closely to Pastor Paul’s teaching. On the second night sixty-five kids raised their hand in response to the invitation to pray for salvation by asking Jesus to come into their lives. What a joy, what a wonderful way to end the week. The choirs in heaven are rejoicing and singing praise to our Lord for these new members of His Body, the Church!

National Workers: A Dream Coming True
February 28th, 2012 7:30 AM
Pastor Ovando and his congregation in Argentina host many special events for people who want to grow in their faith. These events help meet an increasing hunger for spiritual growth.
In Pastor Ovando own words, “We are experiencing a great movement from God in our ministry and lives. We are very happy for the things that are happening among us. People are coming to know Christ, and they are integrating to the church. They are serving God and worshipping God with a lot of joy. Praise the Lord!
We have been praying for 20 years to have our own place for camps, retreats, and encounters of discipleship. Today, we celebrate because acres of land has become available for this purpose. Even more, the land is only two miles from our church! The price is very suitable and we trust in God. He will help us. Please pray for us and ask the Lord in what way you can help us. Every kind of help is very important for us.”
If you would like to learn more about Pastor Ovando’s ministry please contact stephaniep@amginternational.org

National Workers: Adventure at Camp
February 27th, 2012 7:23 AM
A highlight every year for Pastor Ovando in Argentina is the children’s camp. The Lord brought forty-three children between ages six and eleven to participate. Twenty-three volunteers helped make the camp a success. Pastor Ovando wanted to be sure that each child had a volunteer explain the Gospel to them.
“We give Glory to God because every child at the camp has accepted Jesús as their personal Savoir! Some of the children began to read the Bible for first time. It was a glorious experience to see how each child heard the Word of God and wanted to grow in Him. Some of them immediately began to come to the church very happy. We know that the Word of God will bring a lot of fruit in their lives. Praise the Lord.”
Pray that the children would grow in God’s Word and bear much fruit. Pray that their families would come to know Christ as their Savoir.

National Workers: Answering God's Call
February 23rd, 2012 7:30 AM
Pastor Romero shares how he answered God’s call to minister in Yungar, Peru even though he did not know where it would lead.

Pastor Romero with his family
“In 2005, I was the Associate Pastor at the Church of the Puente de Piedra, Lima Peru. I had been serving at this church for five years when I felt God’s call on my life for a new season of ministry. I was sent by the church, along with my family, to become missionaries in the Baptist Church of Yungar.
Once we settled in Yungar, we began working on what the Lord had placed before us. We prayed and thought about the abandoned children and families with few resources. We realized this was a great challenge. It was not going to be easy to share the Gospel. They were full of hunger and lacking resources.
This is why we prayed so much for all of the children in the district. We believed God would help them and us. After a year and a half of constant prayer, God answered us.
Pastor Caller of Iglesia de Centro Bautista in Huaylas partnered with us to start an AMG child sponsorship program in Yungar. At the childcare center, we serve lunch to needy children. After a meal, we share God’s Word through devotions. The center has become a great tool to help needy children come to know the Lord.”
Please pray for Pastor Romero’s family and ministry in Yungar. God has put this work before him to spread His Word in this area. Pastor Romero’s vision is to share the Gospel with each person in Yungar.
