Medical Ministries: I Was Hungry and You Fed Me
May 7th, 2012 7:30 AM
AMG’s Valley of Love community provides leprosy sufferers a place to live and work. Not only that, it is a place where they are accepted and loved. Here they learn skills which enable them to provide for their families and become productive members of society again.
Food is distributed on a regular basis to leprosy victims who live with their families. Many times the deformities resulting from this disease leave people unable to work and earn a living. The food AMG provides enables them to meet the needs of their families.

AMG India Evangelistic Meeting
AMG India’s national director recently shared how AMG is helping leprosy patients there:
"Nearly 1,200 leprosy patients, from different villages in East Godavari District, are receiving monthly rations through the ministry of AMG."

AMG India Food Distribution
"Similarly, we have nearly 250 inpatients in the AMG Leprosy Rehabilitation Center, in Valley of Love in Visakhapatnam District. With help and assistance for their rehabilitation, they are able to maintain small jobs which they can do, even with the deformities the disease causes. This gives them human dignity, self confidence and satisfaction. They are no longer beggars, but are working for their livelihood. And now they live in peace and with hope for a brighter future for their children."
One of the more pronounced deformities associated with leprosy is severe cataracts which often result in blindness. AMG India operates the Kadyum Eye Hospital to compassionately restore sight through comprehensive visual care.

People from nearby villages come to the hospital for free treatment. Patients are treated for all manner of vision problems, and medicines and glasses are made available at no cost if needed.
Each month, Kadyum Eye Hospital conducts about 150 cataract surgeries and lens implantations. As a result of these surgeries, patients regain their lost sight, which enables them to return to normal life and work with confidence.

Through each of these outreaches, AMG’s ultimate goal is to lead the leprosy patient and his or her family to Jesus Christ. Thank you for your prayers for AMG India.

Medical Ministries: A Healing Touch
March 26th, 2012 7:30 AM
Diaconia Medical Clinic in Braila, Romania, an outreach supported by AMG, is doing their best to serve the people in the city, helping them with medical and spiritual needs. Dora, AMG National Worker, shares how the ministry has grown this past year.
“Diaconia means servant. With daily medical services in the clinic, we serve between 30 and 60 patients, and we try to be “salt and light” to them. Also, in the reception area and waiting room of the clinic, every day we have New Testaments and Christian brochures on the tables, available for everyone who wants to read and to take home. The sound system is also playing Christian music, so there is a nice and warm atmosphere. Because of our testimony and quality services in the clinic, our community is more open to come and receive good medical care.

Last year, we served 2,050 patients for medical consultations and additional patients for blood lab work and dental services.
In the first week of April, a mission team from Georgia came with four dentists, and the evangelistic team had a great ministry in the waiting room as about 250 patients waited to see the dentists. We distributed more than 200 New Testaments and other brochures and we continue to pray to God for the harvest.
This year, we will have six mission teams and also a Community Health Program when we will try to cover as many needs as we can, and also to share the Gospel.”
Please pray for Diaconia Medical Clinic and the many people who will hear the Gospel through this ministry.

Medical Ministries: Lives Saved in Haiti Clinic
March 1st, 2012 7:30 AM
Rodne Romeus sends an exciting testimony of how lives are being transformed through Bethesda Medical Clinic in Haiti.
Dear Servant of the Lord,
I greet you in the name of Jesus!
By this note, I would like to tell you that people continue to come to the Lord. Today, we presented at the church a young man who said:
"Pastor Rodne, I was sick with cholera. I was about to die and everybody in my family started to cry. I could not talk. I could not move. I felt that death would be better for me because I did not hope to live again. The nurses, doctor, and other staff members at the clinic took care of me. Finally, I saw that I was living again.”

“I praise God for this miracle. I have to tell you, pastor Rodne, if this medical center were not in the community, now-a-days, I think that more than half the community would die. I understand that God inspired you to begin this project. I thank you. I want to thank all the people who are cooperating with you.”
“From now on, I give my life to Christ. I will come with my whole family because I have my wife and five children. The children are at Baptist school of Grand-Bassin. I praise God for his healing!”
That was the word of Mr. Jean Joel, after accepting the Lord during the worship service, Sunday, February 5, 2012. We can see how important the medical center is to our community. Many patients will have the opportunity to hear and accept the gospel of Jesus Christ! We thank God. We present our thanks to AMG International, our partners, and all our sponsors. To God the glory!

Medical Ministries: St. Luke's Hospital in Greece
February 9th, 2012 9:00 AM
St. Luke’s Hospital is located in Thessalonica, Greece and is considered one of the best hospitals in the Balkan region. As a ministry of AMG for the past 40 years St. Luke’s as been a beacon of hope to many. Every morning and evening the Gospel is presented over the intercom system spreading God’s truth to all who are being treated. The Christian nurses, doctors, and staff have prayer meetings together before each shift giving them the mindset to treat each patient with the kindness of Christ. It is always said by patients at St. Luke’s that they are treated differently than at other hospitals. Each patient is treated with kindness and rates St. Luke’s as an excellent facility. Most public hospitals in Greece are not up to par with St. Luke’s and St. Luke’s will never turn someone away from being treated because of money. Christ is at the center of this hospital which is why it has stayed afloat despite the desperate economical situation in Greece. All who have been treated at St. Luke’s say don’t close because you give hope! A recent patient by the name of Eleni wrote,
“I
feel the need and the joy to express to you my congratulations and admiration
for the select and outstanding staff you have, both the doctors and the
nurses. The manner in which they treated
me, their eagerness to help and their general behavior eased my pain and made
my stay at the hospital pleasant. I am
particularly grateful to the director of the hospital, whose morning and
evening devotionals gave me strength, courage, faith, love and patience in
dealing with the pain I experienced”
Please pray for St. Lukes! Due to the economical climate in Greece St.Lukes, like all the hospitals in Greece, are suffering financially. Consider partner with AMG in praying and possibly supporting St. Luke’s Hospital in Greece.

Medical Ministries: Faithful Service
January 25th, 2012 8:34 AM
AMG Nurse, Lovelie, at Bethesda Medical Center in Haiti shares how the ministry is helping many people.

“May the peace and grace of the Lord be with you. I am so delighted to have a chance to let you know how things are at Bethesda Medical Center and to show the importance of this center here.
Bethesda Medical Center is very important for people who live in that area. Usually we receive 30 persons a day and they are from everywhere. I can tell you it is God’s grace, if not we would have more dead in this area. Every night we receive at least three urgent cases but fortunately we live on the floor of Bethesda Medical Center. That is so important for them.
We face severe cases, such as fever, cough and others. In the patient’s name we thank you because of your help, we have chance to look after them. Now we start with a childbirth service, because in the past, women pregnant used to walk 25 kilometers in order to release their children. Now, it’s different because of Bethesda Medical Center.”
Please pray for Lovelie as she serves the people of Grand Bassin Haiti.

Nearly 1,200 Leprosy patients, from different villages in East Godavari district, are receiving monthly rations through the ministry of AMG.
These Leprosy patients along with their children are able to live in human dignity because of AMG assistance and are blessed because they are cared physically and get the chance to hear the Gospel from AMG National Workers and many of them committed their lives to our Lord Jesus Christ. Now, they have the hope of resurrection, not as deformed and handicapped persons, but with spiritual body as children of God. These Leprosy patients are also happy because, AMG is also helping educate their children in AMG schools.

They are no longer beggars, but are working for their livelihood and now they live in peace and with hope for a brighter future for their children. Their children are getting education in AMG school, Bheemili. Their children need not be illiterate and beg on the streets for their livelihood but now they can hope to get a job and lead respectable lives in the society.

Medical Ministries: A Boy with a Goal, and Faith
September 20th, 2011 7:30 AM
His name is Pierre Louis Wisly, and he lives in the very poor small town of Grand Bassin, Haiti. He is a believer and a member of the Baptist Church of Grand Bassin. He has just graduated from high school. Like most young people in Haiti, he has graduated high school with no prospect of getting a job, and no ability to go on to university. But that has not deterred Pierre Louisa in the least. He has seen the tremendous help and blessing that the AMG Bethesda Medical Center has been to his town. Many people were dying because there was no available medical care of any kind. But the Bethesda center has changed all that. Over 400 lives were saved at Bethesda during the cholera epidemic this year, and now mothers are safely delivering babies at Bethesda, where in many cases previously, either mother or baby, or both, would not survive childbirth.
Pierre Louis wants to be the x-ray technician at the Bethesda center. There is no x-ray machine at Bethesda – yet. (There is presently only one x-ray machine in all of Northeast Haiti!) But never mind that. His training to become an x-ray technician will take three years, and surely by then, his faith tells him, Bethesda will have an x-ray machine.
There is also no place in Haiti where Pierre Louis can be trained to become an x-ray technician. He has just enough money saved to get to Santo Domingo, the capital and largest city in the Dominican Republic, and friends who are helping him get a passport and visa. He has no money for books, tuition, food, or a place to live. But he has his eyes fixed on the goal, and FAITH that God will enable him to become that x-ray technician, making a huge difference for the poor people in his home town of Grand Bassin. “I press on toward the goal, for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus,” Philippians 3:14 (New American Standard).

Medical Ministries: Trusting God to Heal
August 11th, 2011 7:30 AM
In the isolated town of Cubulco, north of the capital, AMG is demonstrating the love and concern of Christ through a 20-bed Christian hospital, agricultural training center, nutrition center, Christian radio program and dental clinic.
Medical Staff Prays Before Surgery
The hospital is fully equipped with and emergency room, x-ray, ulta-sound, labor & delivery, operating rooms, etc... Medical care is provided to the people of Cubulco and tens of thousands in the surrounding area. Every patient and family member who comes to the hospital hears the Gospel presented. For many who are steeped in superstition, this is their first exposure to God's Word.
Medical teams often travel to Guatemala to provide health services to the people of Cubulco and surrounding area. Patients who would otherwise go without treatment are helped physically and spiritually. Many have come to know Christ through the hospital.

Medical Ministries: Healing In His Name
August 9th, 2011 7:30 AM
Diakonia Medical Ministry is expanding their medical services in Braila Romania. The purpose of clinic is to serve God by serving the people in their physical and spiritual needs…to make a difference to the glory of God!
Diakonia clinic opened in June 2008. There are two physicians (full-time), one general surgeon (part-time), one radiologist (part-time), two dentists and a physical therapist. The Lord provided operating licenses for mammograms and dental x-ray units for the physical therapy department.
Last spring, mission teams with medical and dental volunteers came to serve in the clinic. There were also evangelical teams who shared the gospel with patients.
A follow-up program was started for those interested in learning more about Jesus. This group meets every Friday evening in the clinic’s conference room. There is an opportunity to ask questions and seek answers from the Bible.
AMG National Worker, Dora says: “Please pray for us, for the medical equipment that we need, and for the staff. Our goal is to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ and to spread the Gospel to many people who don’t know Him, and to help our brothers and sisters in Christ.”
In the waiting room of the clinic are New Testaments and Christian brochures, for all the people who are interested to read and to take home. Missionaries spend time with the patients and helping them understand more about Jesus.

Advance with compassion the command of Christ to evangelize and make disciples around the world through national workers and in partnership with like-minded Christians
