Learning About Missions Opportunities through Pulpit Helps

I took a phone call today. The caller said, ?My name is Herbert Hughes and I am calling from Anguila. Do you know where that is?? I replied that I knew where it was.  (My son worked there on a Teen Missions team years ago.) He told me that at his church of about 50 people, they take up an offering at their New Year?s Eve service for those less fortunate. He said that previous offerings had been given to the Red Cross for Tsunami relief, etc. But now the Red Cross has closed its office in Anguila, so they looked around for another agency through which to give their offering.

They read Pulpit Helps, AMG?s equipping tool for pastors and leaders in churches, and remembered a recent article about the AMG work and needs in Haiti. So Mr. Hughes was calling to make sure that if their offering was sent to AMG it would really get to the people in need. I was able to assure him of that and to describe the ministry of Rodne Rom?us and the needs he is helping to fill. Their offering of $800 for the AMG ministry in Haiti is now in the mail to us. God is truly using Pulpit Helps to equip pastors and leaders in churches and to make them aware of mission opportunities around the world.
