Testimonies from Indonesia

Indonesia is the most populous Muslim nation on earth. Approximately 85% of its 230 million people belong to Islam. AMG utilizes many methods to proclaim the Good News in Indonesia, including church planters, newspaper ads, childcare, and also radio. We recently received a report of some testimonies that are the result of our radio ministry and we would like to share some highlights with you.

Nanul Ernawati comes from a Muslim background. Through the radio broadcasts of Berita Hidup, our national organization in Indonesia, she came to know and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. She told us, “At that time, I was frustrated and full of fear. Because of that, I turned on my radio, and happened to hear a Christian song followed by a sermon by Rev. Wahyu Wahono. After the sermon, I called the radio station. The people on the other end of the line prayed for me. A calm and peace came to my heart. After that, I was counseled many times before I finally received Jesus Christ as my own Savior.” Now, Nanul has become a pastor’s wife.

Sularto a u lso comes from a Muslim background. The Berita Hidup radio ministry touched his life as well. He told s, “I lived in fear, and did not feel secure. I heard the message on the radio. As I listened, my fear went away and I became convinced of what I was hearing. After follow-up counseling by Berita Hidup workers, I believed in Jesus Christ.”

Another believer from a Muslim background is Bambang Utoyo, Sularto’s brother. He shared with us, “Before my life was very confused and I almost divorced. One day I was told by my brother Sularto that he heard the radio broadcasts by Berita Hidup. I turned on the radio to the same broadcasts. I found hope and a lot of good instruction, and my family did as well. I, as well as my family, made the decision to receive Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior.”

Kho Hin comes from a Khong Hu Chu religion background. He says, “Our family was almost desperate and hopeless because of severe needs and economic problems. My son was very stressed, and two of our daughters left our home. One day I turned on my radio and heard the Berita Hidup program. I called Berita Hidup and was counseled by Rev. Wahyu Wahono. Over time, all of our family members made the decision to receive Jesus Christ as our Savior.

Irwanto comes from a Buddhist background. He told us, “Our family was very confused. One day I heard the Christian radio broadcast by Rev. Wahyu Wahono. I wrote a letter to Berita Hidup. We were visited and told about Jesus Christ and the way out from our problems we face. All of my family made the decision to receive Jesus Christ, and now we all have peace in our hearts.”
