Gospel Ads Lead the Lost to Christ
These ads are effective in many countries. In Thailand, last year 496 people enrolled in the Bible Correspondence Course as a result of the ads, and 36 people professed Jesus Christ as their Savior. Through other follow-up methods, including books, tapes, and commentaries, seven people accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior, and four people became members of an evangelical church. In Spain, a very difficult field for the Gospel, there were 276 responses to an ad. Those who responded received a Gospel of John as well as a coupon to enroll in a Bible Correspondence Course. Two more ads brought more than 170 responses each. In Turkey, there were many responses to ads through various media including newspapers as well as the Internet. A new ad appeared in the Turkish-Kurd newspaper that is distributed to immigrants throughout Europe. We constantly receive testimonies from individuals whose lives were changed as a result of the Gospel ads. It is also exciting to read testimonies of our national workers who faithfully serve God in Turkey by placing the newspaper ads and who handle the Bible Correspondence Courses. One of these nationals is Meryem who comes from an Armenian family. As she was growing up, she came to know Christ as her personal Savior. She lives with her sister and mother who are now believers as well. Meryem has experienced great blessings working in this ministry. Her sister recently observed, “Meryem, you worked for years, but God has never blessed us as much as the past few years.” She says that whatever happens, the Lord always takes care of their needs. Please pray for our newspaper evangelism efforts around the world. Also pray for our faithful coworkers who receive and respond to all the letters that come as a result of the ads. |
